Professional indemnity and Financial Risks is a key part of the firm’s insurance group, acting for the majority of Professional Indemnity Insurers and their insureds. The team specialises in defending claims brought against a range of professionals, including solicitors, insurance brokers, accountants, and financial advisers. In addition to handling liability claims, they provide strategic advice on regulatory matters, risk management, and Ombudsman complaints. The team is also frequently consulted on policy coverage issues by insurers. Alongside working with major Professional Indemnity Insurers, they act directly for several large professional services firms. Recognised for longstanding excellence in professional negligence, the team holds top rankings in both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. The Role:
Our client is seeking a Professional & Financial Risks newly qualified or experienced solicitor/legal executive (NQ +) to join their expanding market leading team in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a vibrant and highly regarded group with market leading partners, handling a diverse and challenging caseload. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to manage a range of high-value, complex professional indemnity claims across various professions, with claim values ranging from tens of thousands to £multi-millions.
Key responsibilities:
* Managing a caseload of Professional Indemnity claims, including coverage issues.
* Providing high-quality and timely legal advice, ensuring alignment with client service agreements.
* Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of the team’s services, processes, and procedures.
* Supporting business development and client initiatives.
* Engaging in knowledge-sharing, training, and team development activities.
* Capturing and collating Management Information in line with client requirements.
Key requirements:
* Solicitor or Legal Executive at the NQ –1 PQE level
* A strong grounding in litigation experience.
* Insurance experience is desirable but not essential.
* A good knowledge of legal procedures.
* Able to deliver legal and commercial solutions and establishes collaborative working relationships with clients and colleagues to provide an outstanding client experience.
* Supports the team to manage the client experience, develops trusted relationships and interacts with clients confidently to achieve the best outcome for the client.
* Committed to business development to further grow their network and the practice.
* Works efficiently and commercially and understands the importance of financial hygiene.
* Collaborative and works effectively in a team.
* Excellent communications skills (both orally and in writing).
* An ability to adapt to shifting priorities and adapt plans accordingly.
* Able to demonstrate good initiative and problem-solving skills, but be conscious of when to consult others.
* Good attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
