Building Fabric Technician
Location: Weybridge, KT15 3NB

The Building Fabric Technician will be responsible for carrying out a range of building services engineering maintenance tasks across various client properties within the designated region.
This role will involve carpentry and fabric-related repairs, basic plumbing, as well as maintenance and installation tasks. The focus will be on delivering a world-class building services maintenance experience to ensure the highest standards are met.
Job Description
You’ll be working within a supportive team environment, alongside another engineer, and will have the opportunity to develop new skills through additional training.
Ideally, candidates will come from a facilities management (FM) background, with experience in completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works.
A carpentry qualification or knowledge would be a valuable asset for this role.

Key Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for fabric related PPM, proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within set time frames so that the customer expectations are exceeded
* Take responsibility for other types of building services maintenance to include exterior works, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry related tasks
* Ensure that all equipment within scope operates to specified performance criteria
* Ensure equipment and surrounding area conforms to agreed company standards
* Provide a professional service and represent the company in a way which ensures customer satisfaction
* Evaluate performance and ensure the proper servicing and maintenance of equipment under contract to the company is carried out
* Take a pro-active approach to client liaison and ensure that concerns are dealt with or relayed to management as necessary
* Be fully aware of contractual requirements and customer needs at all times
* Ensure that administration requirements are actioned on time and all necessary documents / records are maintained accurately
* Ensure compliance with H&S regulations, risk assessment, COSHH etc
* Suggest improvements and innovations to improve the service provided
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* NVQ/City & Guilds in carpentry or woodworking or related trade qualification OR
* Time served multi trades operative who has considerable carpentry and joinery experience
* IPAF / PASMA Or training given
* Be able to undertake manual handling tasks
* Full UK Driving License
* Experience in providing multitrade fabric skills, carpentry, painting and decorating, minor building works, roof repairs, ceiling wall and floor tiles and fabric related building services maintenance
* Previous experience in providing reactive and PPM building services maintenance
* Experience of working within FM or building services within commercial properties. Preferred but not essential
* Experience of working under strict Health & Safety procedures including risk assessments and method statements
* Be able to work in a team or alone
* Be able to work with PDA devices
