Astute's Power team is partnered with a market leading Energy company to recruit an Engineering & Maintenance Manager for their Energy from Waste Power Station in Cardiff, South Wales.
The vital Engineering & Maintenance Manager role comes with a basic salary of circa £70,000 + excellent bonus + benefits.

Responsibilities and Duties
Reporting to the Plant Manager you will be responsible for:
1. Leading, training, and developing a team of multi-skilled engineers and technicians responsible for maintaining all plant equipment to the highest of standards to ensure maximum availability.
2. Liaising with the Operations Manager and site Engineers for the purpose of plant improvement / modification / upgrade work.
3. Planning and managing plant outages.
4. Managing the maintenance department's budget.
5. Developing the site's out of hours maintenance cover arrangements.
Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
1. Ideally having a HNC minimum qualification in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation, etc.
2. Ideally a formal health and safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
Experience, Knowledge and Personal Skills
The Engineering & Maintenance Manager role would suit someone who has:
1. Supervisory or management experience in a Maintenance/Engineering role on a power station or similar heavy process environment such as Power (EfW, Biomass, CCGT, Coal, etc), Paper Mills, Refineries, Petrochemical, etc.
2. Strong knowledge of pressure systems safety regulations (PSSR) would be ideal.
3. Experience working with rotating plant and steam boilers.
4. Knowledge of environmental permits, H&S issues and safe working environments.
5. Experience of managing budgets.
