They boast a range of powerful technologies that enhance the efficiency and the performance of vehicles in a variety of markets.The RoleProduction Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of a new manufacturing and assembly cell, development of production processes, implementation of a Quality Management System to comply with ISO9001 2015 and the day to day management of the production schedule.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for:Planning and implementation of cell layout, identifying: - Maximising use of available floor space Equipment requirements based on defined assembly processes Resource requirement and alternatives Process and work flow Optimum processes to meet volume and quality demands Opportunities to save time and cost during manufacturing and assembly operationsProduction processes: Development of manufacturing and assembly processes LEAN cost and process reduction Control and process improvement plans Adding value and reducing non - value add processes / operations / stepsQuality Management System: QMS structure definition and implementation complying with ISO 9001 requirementsPFMEA: All manufacturing, assembly and test processes identifying: - oareas of alternative approach orisk associated with each and the actions required to eliminate or reduce the risk to an acceptable and understood level to agree way forwardProduct Control Plan: Rigorous product build / product / process control plan in line with the defined QMS Identification and development of component quality testing to ensure parts meet the required spec Identification, development and measurement of PPAP and APQP requirements to suppliers Ensure all documentation is maintained in an accurate and orderly manner to enable inspection records, data and supplier information to be traceable and that meets the requirements of the defined QMSLiaison with suppliers / customers: Interface with suppliers and customers where required to ensure plans are delivered smoothly Resolve delays and issues in a professional manner Identify capex costs, source quotes, arrange Purchase Orders and seek relevant approval Identify supplier quality issues and gain resolution through rigorous, structured and documented review with suppliers at fault Liaise with suppliers to consider alternative or sub contract approaches and ensure external ops are assessed for suitability, quality and costManagement and Reporting: Scope out cell set - up project costs and associated timeline Preparation in advance of month review Material to be provided for up front review the day before the monthly review Presentation to be made to Exec team including: - oProgress last month / plan for next month o Latest accurate Capex and investment requirements oStatus updates on QMS progress and requirements oOverview of timeline and identification of key milestones oStatus of technical improvements / opportunities oQuality issues oIdentification of process improvement and associated cost saving if applicableExperience and SkillsEssential Time served mechanical Engineer with at least 5 years\\\' experience in the set - up and management of highly complex automotive production cells Relevant engineering / manufacturing City Guilds or BTEC higher qualifications Experience in the definition and implementation of new, and improvement of existing production, manufacturing and assembly processes Proven ability in the definition and implementation of a new quality management system covering all manufacturing and production related processes and being compliant with ISO 9001 Experience with QMS auditing Experience with ISO 9001 certification applications and assessments Proficient in the understanding of engineering drawingsExperience of inspection techniques and manual CMM Supplier / customer liaison and client - facing skills Experience of automotive transmission system and component manufacturing Identification of production performance tooling to optimise cost / timescales Proven ability to identify, generate and manage product control plans and work instructions Experience with the definition and set - up of quality management systems complying with ISO 9001the use of production improvement, problem identification and solving techniques in order to improve production efficiency and throughput and reduce waste and non - conformance i.e. LEAN, VSM, CI, 5S, 8D, DfM, FMEA\\\'s, RFT, KPI\\\'s, OTDDesirable Background in CNC programming and operating using Mazak Mazatrol matrix Background in automotive mechanical / transmission development and production engineeringExperience in automatic CMM / Ziess CMM Experience of traditional toolroom engineering machines, e.g. manual lathes, milling machines, grinding machines Project management and reporting experience Identification of project schedule, budget, resource requirements and optimisation of production throughputPersonal Attributes Genuine interest and desire to create exciting and effective products that fit with the Group and external customer demands The ability to highlight areas of potential difficulty and identify possible solutions Effective prioritising and execution of tasks in a high -
