Job Introduction This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, reliable, and committed individual to join our busy and established team as a Ward Clerk on Mulberry Ward at Chippenham Community Hospital. Mulberry Ward is a stroke unit consisting of 20 beds for the assessment and treatment of people who have had a stroke or have other neurological conditions. The role involves weekday and evening work to cover 5 days per week The Ward Clerk is key to the operational day to day management of the unit, working as part of the friendly multi-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for undertaking a variety of administrative/clerical tasks, facilitating the patient journey from admission to discharge. Previous experience of working in a customer care or patient care role as well as working in an administrative role or office environment would be beneficial. Main Responsibility Maintain high standards of customer services by providing effective communication with patients, families, carers, colleagues, managers and a range of professionals from within and outside the organisation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The role will involve the transmission of fairly complex, sensitive and clinical information. Deal effectively with routine situations without further escalation (within the guidelines provided). High level of attention to detail to ensure work is to a high standard and accuracy and to be able to deal with competing priorities.
