My client provides major new or upgraded dock, berth and building infrastructure projects to provide facilities for ship and submarine sustainment programmes. As a Senior Engineer, you'll work with multi-discipline infrastructure system designs to provide an overall sustainment capability. My client needs someone in the lead engineer role to support the design manager on the technical side.
Duties:
1. The technical management of the DSR Updates work package resources and delivery.
2. The checking and review of all technical output from the DSR Updates work package.
3. Identification of the extant DSRs that require updating in support of the safety claims made.
4. Updating (i.e. authoring and checking) the extant DSRs.
5. Input into the Facility Level Design Report as required.
6. Ensure that the produced documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager and Operations & Integration Manager, and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget.
7. Plan for effective project implementation, identifying key factors and leading the project’s technical planning process.
8. Ensuring effective Quality Management Arrangements, operate and deliver through compliance with the Business Management System and Technical Manual.
9. Ensure that the processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.
Candidate must be able to demonstrate:
1. Understanding of multi-disciplinary engineering activities through design, implementation and operation with a core focus on safety.
2. Understanding of the UK laws and regulations pertaining to Nuclear Licenced Sites.
3. Working knowledge of the international codes and standards pertinent to the design of nuclear structures.
4. Knowledge of construction criteria necessary for nuclear facilities.
5. Working knowledge of M&E services design and installation.
6. Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post and project requirements.
7. Working knowledge of relevant engineering office computer applications.
