We are seeking a Team Leader to join our Snowsports team at Mt Hutt, Methven for the 2025 winter season. Reporting directly to the Head of Snowsports, this role is pivotal in ensuring exceptional lesson experiences and smooth operational functions within the mountain environment. The Team Leader will play a key role in supporting the growth of Snowsports, acting as the 'Duty Manager' as needed, managing Lead Instructors, and fostering communication across various departments. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of Snowsports performance metrics, and the ability to adapt quickly to innovative technologies and processes. In this role, the Team Leader will actively contribute to achieving Snowsports performance KPIs. The candidate should excel in providing an awesome customer experience by being present in guest-facing environments, facilitating group lessons, and resolving disruptions efficiently. Our Snowsports School runs daily, weekly, and holiday ski, snowboard, and adaptive programmes.
Reporting to the Head of Snowsports, this is a full-time winter seasonal position, commencing early June to mid-October.
About the Role
* Support the Head of Snowsports and Team Leaders to lead a team of approximately 100 Ski & Snowboard Instructors in a fast-paced environment that presents a diverse range of challenges.
* Provide operational and strategic insight to help develop our objectives for the season ahead.
* Assist with the day-to-day operations of the department and focus on identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
* Leading from the front, your role is to inspire and motivate staff members to deliver exceptional guest experiences and ensure they receive opportunities to further develop their skills and teaching methods.

* You'll need to be a highly effective communicator - able to listen and deal quickly and professionally with a regular stream of queries from staff and guests alike.

Skills and Qualifications
* Competent with a range of computer software packages, especially Microsoft Office.
* Ability to master new software and troubleshoot problems quickly is an advantage.
* Experience working as a ski/snowboard trainer or examiner is an advantage.
* Current Membership to the New Zealand Snowsports Instructors Alliance or foreign equivalent (i.e., BASI, PSIA/AASI, PSIC, CSIA/CASI, AMSI, IASI, APSI, DDS, OSSV, ENSA).
* 5+ seasons of instructing and coaching experience.
* At least two seasons of leadership experience in Snowsports.
