Job Title: Production Planner - Machining or Fabrications section
Environment: Manufacturing - Machining and Fabrication
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 16.45pm and Friday 8am to 12.30pm
Contracted hours per week: 37.5
Pay: up to £55000
Contract: 6 months FTC
Overview:
We are now looking for an additional Production Planner to join the business. Working closely with the Operations manager and overseeing a team of production controllers, you will be tasked to manage an internal account/customer. The internal customer is part of the same group to which the business is all working towards the same goal in providing first-class precision engineered components, on time and within budget.
This role would be project-focused, planning production through the shop floor that consists of machining, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate / Production Planner may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
* Previous experience working in a fast-paced precision engineering environment/similar
* Knowledge of machining and fabrication beneficial
* A strong communicator and character - being able to push back, problem-solve and provide solutions if possible.
* Competent working with Microsoft packages - Word, Excel, etc.
* Previous experience working with MRP/ERP systems
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the function of the role is to lead the efficiency in meeting and exceeding its customer requirements on quality, cost, and delivery:
* Own end-to-end account management processes.
* Management of site production controllers - ensure the internal customers' KPI's are met.
* Leading presentations, ensuring that Delivery Performance is maintained.
* Conduct regular performance and forecasting reviews with customers and production controllers to maintain order book stability, sales, monitor build rates and protect and forecast risks to business capacity constraints.
* Create robust plans and strategies to be proactive in improving site performance and customer targets.
