Job summary Due to recent service expansion, we are looking for an enthusiastic Specialist Physiotherapist with an interest in working with people with learning disabilities in thecommunity. This permanent Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist post serves the Northumberlandand North Tyneside Learning Disability community population, with referrals to theservice being managed by the leadership and administration referral hub withinNorthumberland. A service level agreement exists with the North Tynesidecommunity locality and its Northumbria health care trust / North Tyneside localauthority partners. This element of the service is also managed by theNorthumberland community Learning disability team and remains part of the CNTWNorthumberland and North Tyneside CBU. The core physiotherapy team will provide assessment and intervention to patientsfrom across the Northumberland and North Tyneside region, who present with abroad range of complex and varied conditions. You will be joining a Band 7 ClinicalLead Physiotherapist, a Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist and Band 3 PhysiotherapyAssistant. The post sits within the Northumberland Community learning Disability team andyour base will be at Eddie Ferguson House in Blyth. As the Physiotherapy clinicaldelivery is a county wide service, there are other team bases at Greenacres inAshington, Alnwick Fire Station and Dene Park House in Hexham. Main duties of the job The post holder will be an integral part of the wider team which delivers a range ofspecialist assessments and interventions for people with learning disabilities. Theteam has expanded over recent years and comprises of a range of cliniciansincluding Community Nurses, Nursing Associates, Support Workers, ClinicalPsychologists, Positive Behavioural Support Practitioners, Specialist Nurses, ClinicalPharmacist Associate Practitioners, Non-Medical Prescribers, and Psychiatry. The post holder will have regular clinical and managerial supervision and supportfrom the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist. Long arm development support and CPDopportunities is provided via a trust wide learning disability physiotherapy network. Avariety of support and development opportunities can be expected from the widerleadership team and the MDT.
