What are we looking for?
This position is responsible for providing Informatics training to all non-clinical caregivers within Cleveland Clinic London. The role is to optimise training opportunities within the Epic Electronic Medical Record and other related IT applications.
You will develop and maintain core informatics training programs for caregivers, partner with relevant stakeholders on multidisciplinary efforts to improve informatics training at CCL, and collaborate with the Site Support Specialists and Informatics Specialists in the development and delivery of ongoing training and support.

What will your duties include?
1. Utilises and has expert knowledge of the clinical applications and clinical technologies in their area.
2. Learns, understands and demonstrates knowledge in the operational workflows of the clinical areas and how the workflows integrate with the electronic medical record and other clinical systems.
3. Contributes to the development of a training strategy for caregivers and implements the strategy.
4. Prepares, facilitates and delivers formal and 'in the field' training courses and programs for caregivers, including the design of instructional, participant materials, guides, tip and cheat sheets.
5. Develops and maintains training manuals, multi-media visual aids and other educational materials as needed.
6. Contributes to and supports the maintenance of the Epic MST Training Environment including patient build, scenario and exercise planning in the training environments on a regular basis and during EMR upgrades.
7. Prepares the training environments prior to each formal classroom program to ensure readiness of training material for delivery.
8. Supports the Learning Management System (LMS) scheduling, registering and feedback processes.
9. Liaises with other Trainers, Site Support Specialists, Clinical Informatics Specialists, consultants, physicians, managers and other caregivers within their specialty area to enhance the training materials for the informatics systems (hardware, software and medical equipment if needed) within the area of specialty.
10. Develops ideas, formulates and implements a plan for modifying training materials based on system changes as needed.
11. Partners with the Informatics administrative team as they analyze incident tickets, service requests and risk management logs to proactively plan for and deliver short and long term training needs in the organization.
12. Develops and delivers training and support methodologies, taking into consideration adult learning styles for new staff and ongoing education to all caregivers as necessary.
13. Determines data needed to report on learning and development performance (e.g. attendance, participant rating) and develops continual feedback processes for capturing Learning & Development performance.
14. Evaluates existing training materials and provides recommendations for modifications and improvements to data collection, historical maintenance, and statistical reports.
15. Cross-trains in EMR Application training to ensure adequate coverage and backup for delivery of the clinical training program.
16. Participates in department specific meetings, Shared Governance Councils and hospital wide committees when they relate to training needs within the organization.
17. Consults and liaises with Analysts within IT to provide the most effective and efficient training for end-users by providing training materials and training plans for changes in the EMR.
18. Assists the Director of Clinical Informatics and Department Administrators in achieving the short and long term strategic goals of the Department.
19. Assists in supporting caregivers during go-live of new and upgraded systems on all shifts and in all areas of the institution.
20. Supports the Site Support Specialists team, when needed, in providing elbow to elbow EMR clinical support at critical times. This may include shift work outside of normal working hours (during nights, weekends or public holidays) and remote support over telephone and/or physical presence in the hospital depending on the nature and demands of the support call.
21. Assists in the development of informatics training policies and procedures.
22. Fosters communication to all levels of caregivers and supports that communication within all teams that interface with Clinicians and other stakeholders.
23. Other duties as assigned.
What we need from you?
1. Bachelor's degree in Education, Health Sciences, Healthcare Admin, Information Technology/Computer Science, or related field. (Additional years of experience may offset the degree requirement.)
2. Prior Epic experience with certification as a principle trainer is preferred.
3. Prior experience in an appropriate and relevant health care setting is required.
4. Experience with implementing and delivering a complex training program.
5. Has proven experience in application of project management and system development methodologies.
6. Deep expertise with Clinical IT systems and training both new and experienced users in how to use the system and best practice.
7. Experience with EPIC highly desirable but not essential.
