We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, experienced, friendly and supportive Purchase Ledger Team Leader to join our Finance team in Leicestershire. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial operation of our organisation overseeing the purchase ledger function across the group, leading a dedicated team of seven, and ensuring all supplier payments are processed accurately and on time. Main Duties Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of Finance assistants, ensuring workload is distributed effectively, accountabilities and responsibilities are understood, and team objectives are met. Transactional Processing: Oversee the processing of supplier invoices, staff expenses and foster carer payments, ensuring they are accurately coded, authorised, and paid in a timely manner. Supplier Relationships: Build strong relationships with key suppliers, resolving any disputes or discrepancies and ensuring smooth collaboration. Internal Relationships: Supporting the wider business to effectively onboard suppliers, explaining payment terms, processes and supporting internal queries and escalations as required. Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve purchase ledger processes, identifying opportunities for efficiencies. Compliance: Ensure all purchase ledger activities comply with internal controls, financial regulations, and audit requirements. Experience and Abilities: The role requires previous experience of working within a similar role, of leading and supervising a purchase ledger function. You will need to demonstrate: Proven experience in a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Proficiency in accounting software Sage 50 and SAP Concur would be desirable, as well as high competency with MS Excel. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, holding yourself and others to agreed timelines. Experience of software implementation would be desirable but not a requirement Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
