We are looking for a Service Manager for Thomas who lives in his own home in Peacehaven, he needs you to help him live the life he chooses.
Seco Support are seeking a motivated, experienced and dedicated individual to lead a team providing support for a gentleman with a diagnosis of autism, learning disability whose needs can be complex, with the potential to exhibit behaviours that others may find challenging. The ideal candidate must have empathy and an understanding of how trauma can impact an individual presenting complex needs.
The successful candidate will have a pragmatic ‘can do’ and common-sense approach to all aspects of the role including direct contact and interaction. You will seek to empower Thomas’s potential for independence within the home and the community as appropriate and help create a home environment that is happy, safe, empowering and stimulating, and ensuring Thomas has valued relationships in his life.

About Thomas
Thomas is 46 and lives in his own home in Peacehaven. Thomas has a great sense of humour and needs staff that can get to know him and build positive relationships. Thomas has a diagnosis of profound autism, a mild learning disability, and epilepsy. Thomas has complex trauma and can at times communicate with behaviours of concern. He requires a team that understands autism, trauma and the impacts these can have.
He has an active lifestyle and loves going cycling, walking and learning new skills. Thomas also has a car and enjoys going out for drives. Thomas is adjusting well to his new home and community life, making choices at his own pace. Thomas is funny, has a great memory and is a good mimic, he loves watching sport and TV programmes, and listening to music from his radio. He likes homecooked food, meeting new people, looking nice and being treated with kindness and care. Thomas is devoted to his family and is enjoying spending quality time with them.
About you
You will have a NVQ Level 3 with the desire to work towards a NVQ Level 5, along with extensive experience working in supported living, social care or a related field, including working knowledge of Autism and supporting complex needs (inclusive of anxiety from past trauma).
You will also have:

• The ability to strategically reassess and ensure the consistency of support being delivered
• The ability to implement and maintain fundamental standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with the individual supported, families, staff, and external agencies
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proficient skills in the use of IT and organisational systems
• The ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively
• A good understanding of person-cantered care and support planning
• Skills in training and development of staff

About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Managing the teams annual leave and rota’s
• Managing the finances within Thomas’s service, incl. Seco Support finances
• Complete formal supervisions, probations and appraisals in line with Seco timescales
• Be responsible for updating risk assessments
• Ensure Thomas’s service is compliant with CQC standards
• Lead reviews and ensure updates are made to Thomas’s risk assessments, and support and PBS plan
• Meet regularly with Thomas’s family and professional team
• Interview and support new team members
• Be part of a local on call service
• Provide direct support to Thomas should this be required
Full, clean UK Driving License and access to a vehicle is required.
Full training will be provided through Seco Supports induction programme and online learning.
Full referencing and a full enhanced check of the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) will be required for this position.
