Compliance Manager - Lead Operational Assurance at the Forefront of National Defence
Are you a proactive, detail-driven professional with a passion for quality, safety, and continuous improvement? We're looking for a Compliance Manager to take ownership of the audit and compliance function supporting one of the UK's most unique and critical estates: Dstl (Defence Science and Technology Laboratory).
The Role
In this key leadership role, you'll head up both the compliance and audit functions within the Operational Support team. You'll also lead the CAFM team, ensuring all asset data across the contract is effectively managed and up to date. From chairing working groups and developing long-term asset management plans to enforcing audit regimes and reporting on statutory compliance, you'll be at the centre of ensuring our services are safe, compliant, and always adding value.
Your work will involve producing high-quality documentation, managing performance reports, owning the Forward Additional Services Plan (FASP), and supporting lifecycle management strategies with technical leads. You'll liaise closely with internal teams and client-side stakeholders, playing a central role during audits, risk reviews, and quality assurance checks.
You'll also play a crucial role in managing compliance with standards including MODSFG20, SOP19/02, EM02, and JSP375, helping to drive best practice and efficiency across the board. As a trusted expert, you'll provide technical support to site teams, supply chains, and end users while championing safety and supporting change management initiatives across the estate.
What You'll Bring
To thrive in this role, you should have a strong background in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (HTC/HND/Degree level or equivalent), a working knowledge of CAFM systems, and proven experience managing technical compliance and audits in line with industry standards such as SFG20. The ability to interpret complex data, lead cross-functional teams, and foster a collaborative working environment is a must.
Experience working in or around MOD environments is highly advantageous, as is membership of a professional body such as CIBSE. You'll need to be eligible for SC clearance, over 18 years old, and a British national due to the secure nature of the site.
This is a site-based position across Dstl Porton Down and Portsdown West. It's an exciting opportunity to be part of a contract that directly supports the nation's defence capability while driving compliance, innovation, and service excellence.
What We Offer
* 6% employee matched pension contribution
* 25 days annual leave
* Company car/car allowance
* Single private medical cover
* Life assurance 2 x annual salary
