About the role
The Data Interfaces team at Bournemouth University is responsible for the design, development, and support of the university's Hybrid Integration Platform. The platform provides data integrations between the university's business systems using service bus, web services, and database technologies. The team collaborates with the Solutions Architect, project teams, IT colleagues, and 3rd party software suppliers to implement secure and reliable data integration solutions that help the university meet its digital transformation ambitions.
The team is looking for an experienced data interface developer to increase our delivery capability and help evolve our integration architecture and strategy.
You will have experience integrating cloud-hosted and on-prem enterprise systems, with practical knowledge of database development and Azure IPaaS technologies, including Functions, Service Bus, Logic Apps, and API Manager. Your skillset will include developing with XML, JSON, APIs, C#, and SQL.
As a member of the team, you will contribute through all stages of a project lifecycle, encompassing analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation. You can translate complex data models and business processes into well-designed integration solutions. You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail. You will also be adept at diagnosing and resolving faults to maintain service stability.
You will be dynamic, driven, work to high standards, and be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues. You must have experience of working successfully in a similar role.
This is an exciting time to join the team. With more business systems migrating to the cloud, the opportunity and demand for efficient data integration between them is increasing. Your knowledge and experience will help us both meet that demand and shape the architecture.
