Bede's Trust requires an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join the Grounds Department as a Sports Pitch Apprentice at our Senior School, starting in September 2025.
The successful candidate will work alongside the Head of Sports Pitches following an agreed training programme which will include both on site training and at Plumpton College, East Sussex.
You will develop a range of skills including day to day maintenance, preparation and presentation of all sports pitches to ensure they meet the highest standard for training, competitions and recreational use.
Working closely with the Head of Sports Pitches, this role ensures our pitches are safe, well maintained and align with the school's sports calendar. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to obtain an NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Maintenance.
Starting in September 2025, this is a Full Time, permanent position, with a view to continue in the role upon successful completion of the NVQ. Working 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, Monday - Friday from 07:30 - 16:30 including a 1 hour unpaid break per day. There is a requirement to work one Saturday per month within term time, the accrued time can be taken at a later date.
Offering a salary inline with the National Minimum Wage for apprentices of £15,746.88 per annum (£7.55 per hour) along with a range of staff benefits including:
