What is the role?
In this service, you will work with a young charismatic adult with Autism who can display behaviours that challenge. You will support this individual to manage and learn new skills using a person-centred approach to increase their independence throughout life. We pride ourselves on supporting any individual to better their life skills, community presence and any other support they may require.
Daily Duties include:
* Work with a team of colleagues to provide the best service to the individuals we support which is truly aspirational and person-centred.
* Work to a Positive Behavioural Support Plan and personal plan to ensure effective implementation through review in conjunction with the MDT and or PBS lead.
* Closely working with a multidisciplinary team and family members.
* Actively encouraging the individuals to be part of the community.
* You will be required to support and develop people’s skill base around daily living tasks such as cooking, domestic, finances and medication administration.
* You will provide support in the community with shopping, appointments, educational and leisure activities.
* Support with personal care as outlined in their personal care plan.
* Review risk assessments and support plans alongside your team manager and have a natural desire to help individuals to achieve outcomes.
* Working with a large staff team and being able to use your own initiative.
What skills and experience do you need?
* Experience working in an environment that requires Positive Behavioural Support is essential for this role.
* A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible.
* An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives.
* A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player.
