Job summary We are presently seeking a Registered Healthcare Professional, with significant mental health experience, to take on the role of Operational Service Manager for the Psychiatric Liaison Service. This post will provide leadership and management for two Psychiatric Liaison Teams based in Musgrove Park Hospital and Yeovil District Hospital. The Psychiatric Liaison Service is committed to providing a 24-hour, 7 day a week service within the acute hospitals and plays a significant role as part of a fully integrated acute, community and mental health trust. The primary aims of this service are to provide a high quality, safe, effective and responsive patient care, comprehensive and holistic assessment for patients who attend the Emergency Departments or who are admitted to the acute hospitals. Applicants will need to demonstrate a commitment to these principles. Main duties of the job Applicants must have experience of working in acute mental health care, with good clinical knowledge of managing patients who present in crisis. They should be motivated, flexible, visible with strong leadership qualities and can demonstrate good organisational and self-management skills. You will contribute to a strong leadership and management structure, which provides care across the acute and community mental health care pathway. We would like you to have a good understanding of change management and how you would take things forward effectively within the service. You will act as a positive role model for colleagues in a manner that positively reflects the philosophy of the service and the values of the Trust.
