The role has become available due to an expansion of the team, to support the integration with London & Capital and the ongoing advancement of analytics across the combined business. The Performance and Risk Analyst will primarily undertake performance measurement and data management duties. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high levels of data quality across the team. The main objectives of the role are: Data Extraction/Transformation – Provision of data to the relevant team in a pre-defined format Composite management – management of a third party composite production system to support management information and risk management Third Party Data Submissions – efficient provision and management of data submissions to third parties Performance measurement reporting - utilising system functionality, perform calculations to support performance measurement and client reporting requirements Internal reporting on Waverton’s investment process / model portfolios Data analysis – Interrogate large data sets to provide business insights Support projects and ad-hoc work undertaken by the Performance & Risk function To deliver automation and improve the efficiency of existing processes There will be an opportunity for the right candidate to work with specialist analytical software packages as well as an opportunity to develop or utilise existing programming capabilities, to prepare and analyse data efficiently and provide insights. The successful candidate will be supported in their development and will be encouraged to undertake professional qualifications to increase their investment management industry knowledge. Key Accountabilities: Provide accurate and timely data to support both the business groups and the Performance & Risk Team Maintain data integrity across the internal and third party systems used by the Performance & Risk team Provide third party data submissions in line with the third parties data requirements Management of the system used to generate performance composites for both internal and external reporting, with co-ordination of the workflow across the team Provide internal reporting on Waverton’s investment process and model portfolios Support ad-hoc performance and analytical queries Background and Experience required: Graduate with a statistical background Proficient in Excel Programming knowledge (SQL, Python) Microsoft Power Apps (Query, Automate, BI, etc) Previous investment management experience (desirable) Third Party Software – FactSet, Morningstar, BiSAM, Rimes (desirable but training will be provided) Competencies and Personal Skills: An understanding of the importance of data management and data integrity; Analytical and problem-solving skills Conscientious attention to detail A creative thinker with good initiative IT proficient with programming knowledge Efficient time keeping and prioritisation Excellent communication skills to be used within and outside of the team Proactive self-starter Willingness to grow and develop beyond the job description Flexible can-do and collaborative attitude Able to work under pressure Qualifications Required: Must have a relevant Degree (Statistical – Finance / Technology focused) Qualifications Desired: University Degree – Bachelors or Masters Willingness to work towards obtaining industry qualifications (CFA IMC, CFA CIPM, etc) Compliance and Regulation This role is subject to the Conduct Rules set by the FCA.
