The role: This role works to support the Online Leadership team in the development and delivery of in-year financial and operating performance targets and long-term strategic plans.
Responsibilities: This role is unique, in that it leads a team of qualified finance professionals and expert data analysts with oversight over both financial and operational KPIs, in order to influence the business to optimize performance and support the development of long-term strategic plans.
From a finance perspective, this role leads a growing team currently comprising of a finance manager, finance graduate, and an extended team in India and is responsible for management accounts, in-year forecasts, budget, and long-term plans.
As part of this, you will need to develop strong working relationships with finance peers and non-finance stakeholders, including the Online Leadership Team, Online Strategy/Business Planning, UK and Group Central Finance, and Investor Relations.
From a Business Performance perspective, this role leads a team of 11 UK analysts, plus an extended team in India, to drive forward the performance of the Online channel.
Specifically, this covers: Develop and evolve weekly performance walls and shape insight into clear actionable outcomes off the back of performance reporting.
Act as a trusted partner to the Online directors.
Understand their longer-term objectives & analytical needs.
Prioritize these requirements and ensure the resulting insights are shared widely, understood, and acted upon.
Identify independent areas where analytics can improve the performance of the business (e.g., Customer lifetime value, category performance, seasonal trade).
Working alongside our data engineering teams, develop the data structure required to deliver meaningful insights as we launch new elements to our customer proposition, raise these with the relevant data engineering teams, and perform user acceptance testing of new data tables.
Requirements: Experience partnering senior stakeholders.
Strong FP&A skills Experience working with big data sets.
Negotiation and Prioritisation Stakeholder management Strategy development Communication skills (written & verbal) Ability to tell compelling stories in a simple way.
