We are looking for a ComplianceManager to deliver the function across the Council’s range ofservices.
Are you an experienced complianceprofessional ready to lead on landlord, building and other safetythreads across a diverse property portfolio? We are looking for aCompliance Manager to help ensure the safety, integrity, andcompliance of the authority’s assets, including housingstock.
In this vital role, you’ll lead a team ofcompliance officers and work collaboratively across service areasto implement robust safety strategies, ensure legislativecompliance, and manage a wide range of contractor-led works. You’llbe at the forefront of creating a safer Borough.
The role will require youto:
· buildand lead a team of, overseeing all aspects of complianceperformance andimprovement
· shapeand update safety strategies and policies in line with legislationand bestpractice
· managecontractor performance and deliver housing complianceprogrammes.
· providingexpert advice on key areas including fire safety, asbestos,legionella, and building riskmanagement
· ensurecompliance through audit, assurance, and robust reportingmechanisms.
Aboutyou
The successful candidate willbe able to demonstrate that they have the following skills,knowledge, and work experience:
• At least3 years’ experience in property related health & safety andcompliance management.
• In-depthknowledge of compliance areas including asbestos, fire safety, andlegionella.
· Strongleadership, analytical thinking, and contractor managementskills.
· Relevantqualifications such as HNC in Building Surveying, NEBOSH, and/orspecialist compliancecertifications.
· Acollaborative, inclusive, and outcomes-focusedapproach.
* You needto be highly organised with great attention to detail and have aforward-thinking approach and you will be experienced in findingsolutions to complex matters in a multi-disciplinaryorganisation.
* You will have excellent verbaland written communication skills, and be able to influence and workin partnership with stakeholders both across the council andexternally, to achieve desired outcomes.
* Youwill be proactive, flexible, conscientious, and able to embracechange. Crucially, you will also share the Council's values andrespect the opinions of others, you will work with integrity andcompassion and be a team player.
* You will haveexcellent time management skills and can prioritise and organiseyour own and your team’s workload to meet service demands anddeliver a high-quality service against agreed KPIs, targets andtimescales.
* You will be proficient in the useof Microsoft Office products and other electronic managementsystems, ideally NEC; you will be experienced in analysing data andproducing the required reports. You will have experience ofmaintaining databases to record informationprecisely.
* You will have leadership skills andbe able to motivate your team to achieve optimum efficiency.
* You will have experience of reporting tosenior managers in both written and spokenform.
* You will have experience of procuringcontractors and managing themeffectively.
Thepost is offered on a permanentbasis.
Thisrole requires experience of managing ateam.
