An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Project Manager Planning to fill a recent 12 month secondment placement.
The Capital Planning team sits within the Strategy and Planning Directorate supporting the delivery of a number of capital schemes and projects aligned to the Health Board's Strategy 'A Healthier Mid and West Wales'.
Interviews will be held in person at Ty Gorwel, Parc Dewi Sant, Carmarthen and the successful candidate will be expected to work from the Carmarthen office or required sites for a number of days each week.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The work is varied and complex but extremely rewarding as you will be part of delivering on our vision in West Wales to develop modern, fit for purpose infrastructure and estate.
The candidate will be educated to master's level or have the equivalent level of NHS working experience. Knowledge of capital planning and NHS Business Case process is essential. You will need to be able to work to demanding timescales and have the ability to analyse data and monitor and review project plans.
Job responsibilities
The post holder will manage the interface between developers, external professionals and agencies, and operational service leads and regularly liaise with Executive leads, Project Directors, and County Management Teams.
The post holder will manage a range of projects and programmes with potentially conflicting timescales and priorities. This work may have wide implications for the Health Board impacting on whole Health Board care pathways, clinical standards, performance, and protocols.
Communication requirements will include the need to effectively communicate highly complex or potentially contentious information, seeking to influence and requiring cooperation to each agreement.
Define information requirements and analyse data to feed into service development and project planning.
May be required to deliver teaching sessions and development programmes for clinicians and staff in area of expertise across the Health Board.
Will participate in the production of corporate planning documentation and may be asked to lead on areas of plan development.

Qualifications and Knowledge

* Experience of managing service change projects and coordinating and sometimes leading activities to achieve the project objectives
