Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent upon experience - £5,000 per annum bonus for full occupancy)

Exceptional Care is a therapeutic children’s service providing care and support to children and young people aged 8-17, from complex backgrounds, who display challenging behaviour and EBD. The service is an independent social care organisation with multiple residential units across the whole of the North West.
Exceptional Care believes that consistency in care is paramount to children/young people with complex needs, and we are committed to developing and maintaining good communicative relationships with the child/young person.
Exceptional Care uses a systemic therapeutic approach to support the nurture and care of our children, rooted in attachment theory and trauma-informed approaches.

About the role
MAIN DUTIES
1. To ensure the base home provides and maintains the highest levels of care and service in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, policies and procedures.
2. To provide professional support, training, guidance, and supervision to residential staff, within the home.
3. To support the team to ensure person-centred care plans are established, renewed, maintained, and implemented for each child or young person.
4. To support the team to manage effectively and efficiently all allocated resources of the home, financially.
5. To support the plan of the daily and weekly management of the home.
6. To work with professional colleagues to ensure each child or young person’s best interests are identified and plans established to meet them.
7. To work with the Responsible Individual to implement, create and monitor a framework of care systems.
8. To devise and deliver a home rota and ensure that the requirements are met, in respect of the allocation of staff and needs of the children placed.
9. To be involved and adjudicate in staff disciplinary procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
1. To fulfil the role of the Registered Manager as defined within the Care Standards Act, which may include travel within the UK.
2. To deliver on the content of the Certificate of Registration and the Statement of Purpose for the establishment.
3. To protect children and young people from risks to their health, welfare and normal development, both inside and outside the Home.
4. Ensure the home environment is appropriate and sensitive to the needs of the children and young people being looked after.
5. To actively promote the involvement of all children and counter isolation of individuals.
6. To ensure critical stages in the stay of children and young people, such as admission and discharge, are appropriately managed.
7. To ensure that children facing crisis and stresses are offered appropriate additional support.
8. To participate in developing, implementing and monitoring individual children's care plans.
9. To develop and maintain good working relationships with parents and other family members, social workers, school staff and other professionals concerned for the children's needs.
10. To ensure compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and quality standards.
What you will need
Required criteria:
* Full UK Manual Driving Licence
* 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting at senior level
* Level 3 or 4 Children and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent
Desired criteria:
* Level 5 Children and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent
* Previous Ofsted rating of GOOD or Outstanding
