This is a site-based position.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic tradespeople to join our growing engineering family.
Our Multi Skilled Technicians provide mobile delivery of facilities support services across our client sites. The role will be responsible for carrying out a range of general and fabric maintenance and business support tasks. They will report to one of the Regional Operations Supervisors and assist mobile engineers as required in the delivery of reactive, planned, and ad hoc maintenance tasks.
Suitable training and up-skilling may be given, as and when required, to achieve competency and the ability to perform the following responsibilities.
Working hours: Although the core working hours are 08:00 to 16:00, there may be a certain degree of flexibility depending on individual circumstances.
Main Duties
* Weekly and monthly planned maintenance tasks as scheduled (fire alarm tests, flushing of little-used outlets, water temperature recording, emergency lighting tests, etc.).
* Monthly utilities meter readings.
* First line response to reactive repairs.
* Minor plumbing repairs.
* Provide a reactive and planned proactive maintenance (PPM) service as per project requirements to all operational assets.
* Support the multi-skilled maintenance service team, which covers basic electrical and mechanical disciplines.
* Maintain equipment supported by the team, assisting with sound diagnostic and problem-solving skills, raising issues as required to the shift supervisor on a timely basis.
* Carry out modifications and installations as and when required.
* Liaise with contractors or external suppliers where required and clearly communicate technical issues.
* Maintain accurate documentation of all assigned work orders.
* Comply fully with Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
* Completion of documentation as required, including RAMS, and adhere to all associated permits.
* Flexibility in work hours to provide cover if required for holidays and sickness absence.
* Assist all trades within the team and, through the correct training, be able to complete tasks away from your core skills.
* Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
* Proactively walk the floors, reporting any maintenance or H&S issues to the helpdesk and appropriate manager.
Health & Safety
* Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
* Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery, or risk to health and safety, or the environment.
* Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
* Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.
* Take personal responsibility for Health & Safety matters.

* Experience of building maintenance, handyperson, or janitorial duties.
* Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a building environment.
* Proactive approach to maintenance and building management.
* Confident, driven, and proactive.
* Able to do the job right the first time, within a pre-determined timescale.
* Willingness to undertake further training.
* Ability to provide a schedule of works for identified additional/remedial works.
* Writing and following risk and method statements as required on a daily basis.
* Good knowledge of building Statutory Compliance.
* Ability to record work accurately on worksheets and computer-based systems.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
* Experience of working within a customer-focused environment.
* Desire to achieve success for themselves, the business, and the customer.
* Flexible approach to work and working hours (subject to the EU Working Time Directive).
* Presented in a clean and tidy manner to represent the company professionally, utilizing the uniform and PPE issued.
* Responsible for self and others to maintain a safe working environment as per the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and subsequent UK and EU amendments.
* HSE management in accordance with our Quality Management System and all legal and statutory requirements.
