Highly Specialised Invasive Cardiac Physiologist - Reference - OneWelbeck Heart Health
OneWelbeck was founded by a group of leading clinicians whose objective is to develop a state-of-the-art private day-case centre in the greater London area. OneWelbeck offers outpatient procedural and day-case intervention work in a unique dedicated setting to include procedures such as Ear, Nose & Throat, Permanent Pacemaker Implantation, AF Ablation, Orthopaedic, Gynaecological and Gastro-Intestinal procedures.

The post holder will provide a responsive and efficient Clinical service to meet the needs of the Business. The post holder will use their reason, intellect and judgement to work on their own initiative to deal with matters on behalf of their Manager/Management Team.
Job Summary:
To be part of a fast-paced, essential team performing several day-case Cardiac procedures, including but not limited to cardiac ablations, device implants and PFO closures. Perform out-patient diagnostic tests including but not limited to device follow-ups. Be a proactive member of a multi-disciplinary team within the centre, to provide the best healthcare service to our patients. Comprehensive knowledge in devices (such as ILRs, Pacemakers, ICD and CRT devices) and electrophysiology ablations (such as electrophysiological studies (EP Studies), treating rhythms such as Atrial Fibrillation, Atrial Flutter, Supra-ventricular Tachycardias, etc). This is primarily a CRM/EP role.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Clinical
* Ability to perform comprehensive and thorough device follow-up checks and relay information in a concise report for the Consultants
* Ability to perform simple to complex device implants (including LBBAP) and provide patients with necessary information on post-implant care
* Ability to set-up for and perform various complex ablations - conventional, PFA, Cryo and 3D mapping (portable/mobile equipment)
* Support clinicians in Theatres to perform various day-case procedures, including but not limited to, device implantation, ablations, Transoesophageal echocardiograms, cardioversions, PFO closures, etc.
* Familiarise oneself with the kit required for each case and the set-up in Theatres
* Ensure stock is managed at an appropriate/ safe level.
* Assist other members of the Heart Health team as a senior member of the floor
* Provide assistance to consultants where possible
* Deputise for the Lead Cardiac Physiologist where necessary
* Perform various audits and ensure best practice
Communication:
* Share success of the service with team, number of tests, new services
* Communicate complex information with patients, relatives or carers, explaining the procedures considering any learning or physical disabilities, to obtain agreement and cooperation to any tests or procedures, ensuring privacy, dignity and confidentiality at all times as well as showing empathy when required.
* Build a good relationship with the doctor group
* Proactively work with colleagues on the floor to deliver the 4 core values
Operational Delivery:
* Review room utilisation and bookings for invasive Cardiology service
* Flexibility to work based on business needs
* Ensure availability, cleanliness and maintenance of equipment.
* Ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained utilising the materials manager to order stock as appropriate, via stock control or purchase requisition.
Quality Care & Governance:
* You may be required to support the deputy centre director in our Quality Assurance Performance Index meetings every 3 months
* Ablation Audit data
* Remote Monitoring overview and management
* Appropriate referrals, review inclusion and exclusion criteria for day-case procedures where necessary
* Infection and prevention and control
* Informed consent
Reporting:
* Use reporting systems to complete test results for review by the cardiologists
* Participate in a multidisciplinary team, delivering specialist cardiac diagnostic services
* Liaising with medical and administrative staff, nurses, other specialist Physiologists and healthcare assistants.
People Management:
* There is no direct line management within this position, but you will be expected as a senior lead to set a safe working environment and lead by example to the junior members on the floor and in theatres.
* Appropriately manage the use of locum and bank staff in line with business needs.
* Work on business cases with providers to get the best prices for new equipment
* Continually review the service provision and proactively get involved in future growth of the invasive department.
