Executive Assistant\n\nApply before 11:55 pm on Thursday 24th April 2025\n\nLocation - Manchester\n\nSalary - £27,707 - £29,637 + benefits (including a Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97%)\n\nContract type - 2-year fixed term contract\n\nWe lead the Government's work on the future governance of football. At present, the Shadow Football Regulator comprises over thirty members of staff, led by an interim Chief Operating Officer, undertaking a range of activities in preparation for passage of the Football Governance Bill, which is currently in Parliament. \n\nThe Shadow Football Regulator is a dedicated team within DCMS which is responsible for setting up the Independent Football Regulator (IFR). It is ensuring the regulator has the right skills, governance and corporate functions so it can start work as soon as possible after the Bill receives Royal Assent.\n\nThis post, and its recruitment, is dependent on progress of the Bill, and the intention is for this role to transfer to the Regulator once it's legally established. \n\nPlease note that the Independent Football Regulator will be based in Greater Manchester, but an exact location has yet to be determined.\n\nJob Description\n\nThe role of Executive Assistant will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to be at the heart of the development of the Independent Football Regulator, as they will be providing support and input for senior decision makers.
The status and framework of the new organisation is in development, and this exciting role will evolve as the organisation grows, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders.\n\nResponsibilities include:\n\nArranging and managing the diaries for two of our senior leadership team.\nManaging the inbox, prioritising correspondence that senior colleagues need to review and replying on their behalf where appropriate.\nWhere required, taking minutes and notes for meetings attended by seniors and keeping well organised records. Disseminating actions to the wider organisation where needed.\nOverseeing the management of the diary – to ensure meetings and appointments are scheduled appropriately.\nProviding secretariat support for a number of key products and governance boards including regular reports and meetings.\n\nPerson Specification\n\nEssential Requirements:\n\nExcellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work effectively across a range of tasks and under pressure.\nStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact confidently and professionally with stakeholders of varying seniority.\nExperience of working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders; ability to work collaboratively to resolve difficult issues.\nGood judgement to manage situations independently and understand when to escalate and how.\nStrong work ethic and a proven team player, with ability to work under pressure.\n\nDesirable Skills:\n\nKeen interest in the work of the Shadow Football Regulator.\n\nBenefits\n\nAlongside your salary of £27,707, Department for Culture, Media and Sport contributes £8,026 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.\n\nDCMS values its staff and offers a wide range of benefits to everyone who works here.
