Ensures scope of works are quality controlled ensuring quality controls are implemented and communicated. Ensures Mace validation checks are carried out in conjunction with trade contractor’s specific checks and implement the Mace temporary works procedure and safety procedures. You’ll be responsible for: Provides engineering support and expertise to the site engineers. Manages project wide dimensional control for main contractor and trade contractor works. Interprets as-built surveys/installations are checked prior to construction of follow-on activities. Acts as a TWS and Deputy TWC (dependant on individual competency) as stipulated in Mace TW procedure. Reviews design information and liaise with designers or trade contractors to resolve queries. Manages trade contractors to ensure that ITPs are complied with, and verification records are in place. Carries out defined inspections to allow Mace verification of the works. Develops effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Seeks opportunities for continuous improvements/improving working processes. Responsibility for site engineers’ activities. Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work. You’ll need to have: Technical qualifications to HNC/HND or equivalent GNVQ level. Previous experience in the management of outside and third-party activities and mitigation of risk. Successful relevant experience in engineering disciplines, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects across multi-discipline areas. Significant knowledge of technical, safety and performance standards and their application to asset protection activities. Clear understanding of CDM, with the ability to recognise CDM duties, and associated requirements under health & safety legislation. Knowledge of safety management including the concept of safe by-design principles. Understanding of the arrangements required for the independent assessment of work. Knowledge of quality assurance. Knowledge of risk assessment, including auditing internal and external engineering competency Telecommunications (commercial) - with specific experience working in the vicinity of station buildings and platforms. Telecommunications (operational) - with specific experience related to the design and installation of rail industry products. Mechanical & Electrical - with specific experience working in the vicinity of station buildings and platforms. Civil Engineering - with specific experience in earthworks, drainage solutions, ground stability and environmental impacts. Structural Engineering - with specific experience in bridge design, construction, and associated temporary works including shuttering and scaffolds. Tunnelling methodology - to include HDD, pipe jacking, and larger tunnel boring techniques - with specific experience of technique selection based upon assessment of ground conditions and use of settlement calculations. Review of settlement monitoring system design and interpretation of results will be required. Permanent way - with knowledge of maintenance limitation. Signalling with specific experience of project development for signalling schemes, signalling schemes review panel processes and deliverables criteria for signalling schemes. Electrification & power - with specific experience of E&P supply systems, distribution systems, SCADA control and power delivery infrastructure to include OHL (25KvAC) and 3rd Rail (650vDC) systems.
