A well-established special needs school in Croydon is seeking a dedicated and exceptional SEN Teacher to join their team.
The role is offered on a full-time basis, with the possibility of transferring from an agency contract to a permanent position.
The school specialises in providing highly tailored provisions for students with autism, and your focus will be on supporting students in their educational journey while encouraging their independence.
As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for leading a class of 7 students, supported by 3 Teaching Assistants.
Your primary objective will be to create an engaging and supportive learning environment that caters to the individual needs of each student.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with autism.
- Work collaboratively with a team of Teaching Assistants to ensure effective learning and engagement for each pupil.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote student independence and social skills.
- Monitor and track the progress of students, providing regular feedback and reports.
- Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential for this role.
- Experience working with SEN pupils, particularly those with autism, in a teaching environment.
- A passion for supporting the educational progress and personal development of SEN students.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
