Purpose:
To conduct innovative research and development in molecular biology and next-generation sequencing workflows, contributing to the development of advanced pathogen detection systems for public health and CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) applications.
Responsibilities:
1. Research and Development: Perform cutting-edge molecular biology research to optimize workflows, including nucleic acid extraction, RNA/DNA analysis, and qPCR/RT-PCR. Contribute to the development of NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) library preparation and sequencing methods.
2. Data Analysis and Reporting: Accurately record experimental protocols and results, analyze data, and create comprehensive reports. Present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences as required.
3. Lab Operations and Maintenance: Maintain lab equipment, ensure adherence to safety protocols, and contribute to the drafting and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
4. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and other disciplines to support the integration of molecular biology methods into instrumentation development. Clearly communicate scientific requirements and findings to a diverse team.
5. Team Contribution: Actively contribute to the team’s goals, support colleagues, and participate in cross-functional activities to drive the success of the pathogen detection systems.
Main Activities:
* Perform molecular biology techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, purification, and analysis, as well as qPCR/RT-PCR workflows.
* Develop, test, and refine NGS library preparation and sequencing workflows (training provided if needed).
* Analyze experimental results and communicate findings effectively through written reports and presentations.
* Maintain laboratory instruments, develop SOPs, and uphold safety protocols.
* Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to integrate molecular biology techniques into pathogen detection systems.
This role requires an enthusiastic individual with a proactive mindset, eager to excel in laboratory research and contribute meaningfully to the development of next-generation public health technologies.
