About the role:
We are seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN-TA) specialising in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This full-time, long-term role will see you working closely with Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils, providing tailored support to meet their specific needs. You’ll play a key role in helping students access the curriculum, develop their social skills, and thrive in a structured learning environment. Application Requirements:
• Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or in a SEN capacity.
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A relevant qualification (such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) is desirable but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 or small-group support to children with ASD to help them engage with learning activities.
• Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to develop and implement individualized support plans.
• Use creative and adaptive strategies to support the academic and emotional development of pupils.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
• Support children in developing their communication and social interaction skills.
