Job Title: Health and Wellbeing Coordinator – VisionPK
Location: Sensory Hub, George Street, Perth (with travel across Perth and Kinross)
Reports to: Service Manager
Hours: 18 hours per week over 3 days (Fixed-term contract for 2 years)
About Us:
VisionPK is an exciting and growing charity, recently opening our new Sensory Hub in the heart of Perth. We provide specialist services for people with sight loss, hearing loss, or who are deaf, living within the Perth and Kinross local authority area.
We are currently recruiting a Health and Wellbeing Coordinator for a newly created role, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. This role is central to promoting the physical and emotional wellbeing of individuals with sensory impairments, both within the community and at our Sensory Hub.
The Role
Health and Wellbeing Programme Development and Delivery
1. Facilitate Activities: Develop and deliver a range of tailored health and wellbeing activities for individuals with sight and hearing loss, including exercise classes, mindfulness workshops, peer support groups, and social events.
2. Service User Involvement: Engage with service users to understand their needs, ensuring activities are inclusive and accessible.
3. Hub Programmes: Oversee the daily running of health and wellbeing activities at the Sensory Hub, fostering a supportive and welcoming environment.
4. Community Outreach: Extend activities into the wider community to reach those unable to access the Sensory Hub.
Partnership Building and Collaboration
1. Build and maintain strong relationships with local health, social care, and voluntary organisations.
2. Collaborate with external partners on joint health-focused projects.
3. Refer service users to additional support, such as mental health services or rehabilitation, where needed.
About You
1. Experience in delivering health and wellbeing programmes, particularly for individuals with disabilities or sensory impairments.
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
3. Ability to build effective partnerships with external organisations.
4. A proactive, compassionate, and organised individual who can work independently and as part of a team.
5. A commitment to promoting inclusivity and accessibility.
