The Vacancy
We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Programme Management Team based in Coventry or Liverpool.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the successful delivery of a number of projects working across various MTC Technology Themes for major MTC clients.
* Ensure customer needs are clearly captured, understood, and effectively built into project proposals.
* Liaise with resource owners / team leaders to ensure effective use of resources in delivering project quality, cost & delivery within project scope.
* Manage any changes to project scope via the recognised “Change Request” process.
* Act as champion for BMS project management processes, tools & techniques.
* Contribute to continuous improvement activities relates to PM tools and processes.

We are looking for a candidate who is/has:
Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience
* Experience of working on government-funded collaborative research & development projects.
* A clear leadership style directing others to achieve project success.
* Articulate and able to effectively communicate at all levels of the business.
* Clear and concise communication given in a timely manner to key stakeholders, ensuring they are briefed on any mission critical issues and remedial plans are fully agreed.
* Numerate with a strong focus on financial management.
* An organised yet flexible approach with the ability to influence/deliver through others.
* Ability to identify resource requirements and negotiate availability with resource owners / team leaders.
* Results driven self-starter with a positive CAN-DO approach focusing on solutions rather than problems.
Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Experience
* Experience in a busy project based/professional services environment.
* Experience of Microsoft project management tools including MS Project and Excel.
* Association of Project Management (APM) qualification (or willingness to work towards achieving this accredited qualification).
