Hays are partnering with a leading Transportation organisation, in Belfast, to recruit for an Assistant Service Delivery Manager to join their team.
Your new role
You will be responsible for providing safe, cost-effective delivery of high-quality customer service for bus public transport in your designated area, under the direction of your Service Delivery Manager (SDM). This will require you to assess, monitor and manage bus transport services, which will include staff recruitment, training and development; fleet and facilities presentation as well as materials cost control and utilisation to meet the needs of the business. You will also assist the SDM to plan, organise and deliver business change to transport services in your area, with safety, customer service and commerciality as key drivers.
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience of working in a trade unionised environment
* Experience in a first line supervisory or management role
* Possess knowledge of employment law and HR/industrial relations practices and procedures
* Possess experience as a manager or supervisor within a transport business
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent, including English and Maths or, alternatively be able to demonstrate at least 2 years relevant experience in a similar post
* Possess a minimum of HNC/HND qualification or equivalent
* Possess knowledge of domestic and EU transport regulations
* Experience of using Microsoft Office packages
* Knowledge of Health and Safety in an operational environment
* Possess a CPC qualification or willing to obtain one
* Ability to utilise information technology to improve performance
* Knowledge of route planning and vehicle scheduling
