We are committed to growth and are seeking a Marine Trading Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone eager to contribute to our ongoing success and expansion in Marine insurance.
About the role:
The Marine Trading Manager will focus on market engagement, including interactions with brokers, current and prospective clients, and industry peers. Responsibilities include implementing growth strategies, managing portfolio development, and developing new business channels. The role also involves mentoring junior staff and providing industry thought leadership.
You will have opportunities to enhance your technical expertise and contribute to team success by achieving pipeline targets, growing GWP and profit, and fostering a positive team environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Aligning business activities with plan requirements for all Marine insurance written and renewed.
* Driving growth in volume, quality, and profitability to meet business targets.
* Building and maintaining relationships with brokers and clients.
* Managing risks and performance metrics such as GWP, NWP, Loss Ratio, Expense Ratio, and Combined Ratio.
* Making informed case-by-case decisions to ensure strategic and governance compliance.
Desired skills and experience:
* Strong underwriting experience in cargo and freight liability risks.
* Proven ability to manage an insurance portfolio and monitor key metrics.
* Excellent relationship-building skills with brokers and clients.
* Confident negotiator and effective communicator.
* Results-driven with effective planning and prioritization skills.
