Job overview
Housekeepers are responsible for providing and maintaining cleaning and catering services as part of the Hotel Services team to clinical and communal areas within the Trust, ensuring a clean, safe and supportive environment for patients working towards their recovery, staff and visitors.
You will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about putting patient care at the heart of everything you do. You will be working in a multi-professional team and will need to think on the spot and use your own initiative. You will be passionate about creating a culture of continuous improvement within the NHS.
You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.
Main duties of the job
We require a friendly, positive thinking, organised and motivated individual to work as a Housekeeper, part time within the Trust's Hotel Services Team.
1 x 20 hour post
The post holder will be based at Roseberry Park Middlesbrough and will be required to work shifts between the hours of 7 am - 6 pm including weekends.
You should be highly motivated, reliable, and flexible, also willing to work at short notice as there may be opportunities for extra hours.
Experience in cleaning duties and use of chemicals and equipment are essential as you will be working in a demanding environment. Catering and food service experience would be beneficial along with a passion for providing high standards of customer service.
Experience of working or volunteering in a mental health and learning disabilities environment is essential. Also, the ability to provide a positive approach and image when working with relevant client groups throughout the Trust.
Candidates must possess Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 or work towards successful completion in an agreed timescale.
Essential are: Numeracy, Literacy and ITQ level 2 (Equivalent to GCSE grades 9 to 4 (A* to C in old GCSE grading system).
NVQ Level 2 Housekeeping is desirable. All candidates should demonstrate a commitment to undertake further training and qualifications as deemed necessary to the position within agreed timescales.

Here at Tees, Esk and Wear Valley Foundation NHS Trust we want you to have a positive experience when you start your new role with us. To ensure you have a great welcome, for all new starters joining the Trust, we offer two start dates per month on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of that Month.
