About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Music Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive mainstream secondary school in the Ealing/Northolt area. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students across various year groups, fostering a love for music and creativity.
As a key member of the Performing Arts department, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that cater to students of different abilities. You should be comfortable teaching a broad music curriculum, incorporating both practical and theoretical elements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and deliver high-quality music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and possibly Key Stage 5).
2. Engage students with a range of musical genres, instruments, and digital music technology.
3. Prepare students for assessments, performances, and extracurricular activities.
4. Mark and assess students' work, providing constructive feedback to support progress.
5. Contribute to the wider school community, including school concerts, clubs, and events.
6. Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies.
Requirements
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
2. Experience teaching music in a secondary school setting.
3. Strong knowledge of the UK music curriculum.
4. Ability to teach a variety of musical instruments and integrate music technology into lessons.
5. Excellent classroom management skills.
6. A positive and proactive attitude, with a passion for student success.
Working Pattern
1. 3 days per week (specific days to be discussed).
2. Standard school hours (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM).
