T he Head of Brand (12-month FTC) is a super exciting strategic role that focuses on how Centrica’s brands – primarily British Gas and Hive - are positionedand show up every day for over 10 million existing and prospective customers.And of course, we’re nothing without our people, so you’ll also be charged with leading and delivering a brilliant employer brand experience across Centrica – building real pride and purpose.
Leading our Brand Centre of Excellence, you’ll lead a diverse team of brand strategists, insights teams, creatives and brand managers. With your brilliant team, you’llbe responsible everything from setting brand priorities and direction to owning and refining our creative platforms.
You’ll be brand obsessed, with a deep understanding of our customer segments and you’ll be fuelled by insight and data as much as you are by creativity.
Over the past year, we have set a lot of the foundations for both the British Gas and Hive brands, articulating a clear brand strategy for each brand and developing creative platforms to bring these positionings to life for our customers. As custodian of our brands for 12 months, a key part of your role will be building on this work to look at how the brand shows up across the customer journey and refining our creative platforms to ensure these are as successful as possible.
About the role:
1. Strategy: define, own and deliver a rolling brand strategy and plan, ensuring our brands are continually evolving to align with our strategic ambitions and the environments in which we operate
2. Architecture & purpose: manage the architecture of our brands, to ensure that each has clear and distinct purposeand identity at all times
3. Internal champion: be our brand champion, building pride and understanding of our brands so that they are widely and easily understood by our people and used consistently across our business
4. Audiences: champion our brand customer targets,embed them within relevant business units and bring them to life with relevant new research and insights
5. Research & insight: ensure the delivery of brand and customer insights – from brand tracking, to competitor analysis and customer research – to inform and shape our brand strategies and priorities, and influence proposition development across the business
6. Brand health & measurement: set Brand KPIs aligned with our brand strategies and embed these across teams. Track success and lead on interventions where we’re seeing performance not move as planned
7. Team: embed a high-performance culture within the team where data driven decision-making is the norm and the brand team collaborate brilliantly across a matrix organisation and with agency partners
Here's what we're looking for:
8. Leading brilliant and complex B2C brands, ideally fabric of nation brands – with impressive achievements
9. Being a truly accountable brand custodian – setting the highest professional standards that inspire a brand-led organisation
10. Developing highly successfulcustomer needs based, multi-portfolio brand strategies and plans
11. Managing and shaping brand identities and guidelines and embedding these across the business
12. Being fuelled by rich insight and data to inform recommendations and decision making
13. Architecting bold and distinctive brand platforms to work magically over the full spectrum of channels
14. Partnering with talent and building long-term strategic relationships
15. Building and developing a ‘brand obsessed’ high performing team
16. Managing large budgets across multiple business units
17. Developing outstanding relationships with agency partners
