Job Description:
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work in the Sierra workstream as a Software Engineer – SDM Config Designer within Barclays Financial Assistance (BFA) aligned to Customer Care Needs Lab.
2. Collaborate with business analysts and Sierra PO’s in refine design sessions to create a healthy backlog for the SDM feature team.
3. Create configuration low-level designs in line with business requirements.
4. Guide the feature team on Sierra business processes and its configurations.
5. Participate in test scenario reviews to ensure full coverage.
6. Identify various risks and work closely with Sierra TDM to handle them effectively.
Purpose of the Role:

1. Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
2. Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
3. Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
4. Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
5. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
6. Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
