An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 part time (22.3 hrs) Specialist Nurse within our Nurse Led Specialist Bladder & Bowel Advisory Service (BABs). The unit is based in Falkirk Community Hospital. We provide an area wide nurse led service to people across Forth Valley and hold three clinics each week in the localities. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
The Bladder & Bowel Service (BABs) offers advice and guidance in all settings across Forth Valley that support patients with Bladder & Bowel Dysfunction. In addition, the service provides continence training and support to health and social care professionals and to clinicians who assess patients for containment products. You will play a key role as a Specialist Nurse within the service by providing professional guidance to others within Forth Valley which includes Care and Nursing Homes, Prisons, Community Nursing teams, FVRH and Community Hospitals whilst supporting patients, carers and families. The service promotes independence by providing an equitable, effective and efficient service affording people across Forth Valley the opportunity to have their condition improved or cured through holistic assessment.
We aim to achieve the best outcomes for all people with bladder or bowel dysfunction using evidence based practice. The work undertaken involves raising awareness, providing information and education, developing policy and providing access to specialist advice.
We are looking for a First level Registered Nurse with relevant experience. You will have previous experience of leading and managing a team and hold a relevant qualification/Speciality ENB978 (Promotion of Continence/Management of Incontinence) or equivalent.
