The Medical Device Testing (MDT) division was established to offer focused support to the needs of the innovative and thriving medical device and combination drug product industries. Over the past two years, both the UK and US teams have invested heavily in additional scientists and new instrumentation to increase capacity and broaden the expertise for client support with world-class capabilities. The team provides expert support to help clients prove compliance to a range of international standards including FDA, MHRA, USP, ASTM, and ISO.
Due to this increased investment and continued success, the Medical Device Testing division is looking to recruit an experienced scientist for the position of Scientist II. This role would be ideal for a Scientist who wants to further develop their skills within a new team and a growing market. The department focuses on both standard and non-standard testing on a wide range of drug delivery devices, accessories, and packaging to ensure that products are safe and fit for use.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
* Carrying out multiple testing programs and providing high-quality accurate data on time to Project Leaders
* Working within a highly regulated environment, supporting the validation of equipment, test methods, and procedures
* Leading and supporting project planning, protocol/report writing, and data analysis activities
* Contributing towards the effective organization of equipment and resources
You will be working within a fast-paced environment supporting the continuous workflow of the department, serving the global pharmaceutical and medical device industry.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
* A minimum of a Degree in a Science or Engineering-based field, with experience within a medical device or pharmaceutical testing laboratory
* Some hands-on experience of working within a physical testing or device testing laboratory is preferred but not essential
* Experience of working on multiple projects, documenting activities, and writing experiment reports
* Computer literacy, particularly in Excel and Word, and the ability to analyze, interpret data, and compile subsequent reports
* A passion for problem-solving, being hands-on, and an interest in the physical sciences
* A strong team player, with a methodical approach and the ability to plan, organize, and manage your own workload
