This is a hybrid role and the manufacturing plant is located in Middlewich within easy access of the M6 motorway. Our client has been manufacturing chemical solutions in Cheshire for over 30 years and supplies customers across the globe with off-the-shelf products and bespoke solutions tailored to their unique requirements. Role summary; Reporting into the UK Sales Manager, this is a hands-on role within a rapidly growing specialty chemical manufacturing business. The successful candidate will have experience in a similar B2B sales role with a track record of developing and executing sales strategies to grow product sales performance and profit. The successful candidate will be a motivated self starter, proactive by nature and customer focused, with the drive and ability to operate in the field with minimum supervision throughout the UK. The role offers a good career path into a global commercial role for the successful applicant. Experience/Qualifications: 2-3 years B2B sales experience in the chemical industry with a manufacturer or Distributor Degree qualification in chemistry/chemical engineering or related technical subject Knowledge/experience in the field of surfactants, antifoam agents, silicone emulsions is desirable though not essential Experience in applications such as water treatment, coatings, construction, printing, food & beverage or adhesives is desirable though not essential Experience in B2B sales or account management and business development activities Credible customer facing skills, highly organised with strong time management skills, commercial acumen and the ability to build trusted business relationships A tenacious and proactive self-starter, who is results driven with a genuine passion for sales and excellent communication skills Valid UK Drivers License essential and willingness to travel up to 40% of your time to meet customers Key Responsibilities; Service and further develop existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, etc Use appropriate routes-to-market and market research to identify and develop new accounts and business opportunities Identify the UKs emerging markets and market shifts while maintaining awareness of new products and competition status. Achieve company and personal objectives by planning thoroughly, setting sales goals, and researching industry trends/needs Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands our customer base and the companys reach within the UK Maintain a strong awareness of competitor status, products, activity, pricing, market trends, marketing techniques/activities Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
