Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA): Nursery – 1 year to be reviewed
Level 4 Grade 5 SCP 18-22
£30,599 - £32,654 p.a. pro rata
32.5 hours per week
i.e. (76.82% = £23,506 - £25,084 p.a.)
To start 28th April 2025 or as soon after as possible
The Governors are seeking to appoint an outstanding, enthusiastic, resilient and committed HLTA to join our school. The successful applicant will be expected to work with our Nursery staff in managing our Early Years unit.
Main tasks, duties and responsibilities will include:
- To manage, plan and resource a classroom which will encourage the development of all aspects of children’s learning. In particular, to encourage independent use of resources and involvement in their learning
- To provide a stimulating classroom environment, relevant to children’s interests.
- To monitor and assess pupil progress, ensuring appropriate records have been kept.
- To act as a lead and report on children’s progress and attainment to parents/carers.
- To perform and keep records of observations, using information gathered to inform individual pupil targets, lesson planning and the preparation of activities
- To contribute to the school’s Performance Management process, supporting colleagues as required
- To manage and deploy colleagues and support staff where required
- To play a full part in the life of the school community, supporting the ethos of the school.
- To comply with school policies and procedures in areas such as assessment, marking, behaviour management and communication with parents, planning, staff meetings and parental events
- To communicate and cooperate with specialists from outside agencies

Interview Process:
● Prior reading of the non-maintained curriculum.
● Deliver task suitable for a group of nursery children.
● Formal interview with the Governing Body.
● Written task
