Assessor - Work Based (Health & Social Care, Clinical) 36,351 - 40,067 1 FTE / 35 Hours Based at Falkirk Campus / Hybrid Working (some travel will also be required) Permanent About the Role: Forth Valley College's Apprenticeships, Skills & Commercial Department is looking for an Assessor - Work Based (Health & Social Care) with a clinical background to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting and assessing candidates within Health & Social Care disciplines. The ideal candidate will have proven, relevant, current experience, and knowledge and understanding of Clinical Health & Social Care. Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Apprenticeship Skills and Commercial team, you will deliver workplace guidance and support to candidates in compiling and presenting a comprehensive portfolio of evidence that adheres to the vocational qualification's performance criteria and evidence requirements. This will include: Conducting fair, safe, and reliable assessments of candidates' skills and knowledge in their respective workplaces. Maintaining excellent communication and IT skills to effectively manage learner interactions and documentation. Exhibit a strong passion for professional discipline, with an ability to work under tight deadlines and independently manage workload. Inspire, encourage, and motivate candidates, fostering an environment conducive to learning and professional growth. Participate actively as a member of the assessment team, contributing to the continuous improvement of assessment processes and practices. You will also have a professional approach to dealing with external organisations as well as the ability to coach and build a rapport with vocational candidates. Essential Requirements: Proven, relevant, and up-to-date hands-on industry experience in Clinical Health & Social Care disciplines. Exceptional communication and IT skills. A genuine enthusiasm for mentoring and skill development within the Care Sector. Ability to work to tight deadlines and effectively manage personal workload. Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for frequent travel to employer premises. Desirable Qualifications: A recognised Assessor and/ Verifier qualification or the willingness to work towards gaining these qualifications.
