The per diem Radiographer will be responsible for the following:
* Reviews and evaluates requisitions for Diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.
* Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
* Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
* Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs.
* Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA.Follows Departmental QC/Data Integrity Workflow.
* Practices High Reliability Training.
* Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.
* Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
* Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
* Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.
* Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
* Complies with ETU.
* Complies with HIPAA regulations.
* Practices the 6 core values of the Hospital; excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork and accountability.
* Furthers professional education and maintains knowledge of current regulations and standards, policies and procedures.
* Maintains up-to-date licensure/certification/registration in departmental file.
To qualify, you must have:
* An Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology is required.
* The analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in‑depth, experienced‑based knowledge.
* MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification is required.
* The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
