Job summary
The Project Management Office function within DIO has grown within Regional Delivery, and we are looking for a forward thinking, dynamic and self-motivated Project Delivery Manager to join us.
The role is critical to the delivery and performance reporting of all their projects over a wide ranging and diverse portfolio of buildings and infrastructure assets, with project values typically ranging from �100K to �5M but can be up to �20M. The successful candidate will work with customers to define scope and work with our prime contractor to delivery projects to time, cost and quality.
Our military customers have a large and complex infrastructure requirement that requires close management of change initiatives and careful management of the customer/contractor interface. You will bring our customers� requirements to life and lead on the delivery of the assigned projects to full completion, ensuring all programme key milestones are met, and representing the best interests of your customers.
The post advertised is for 37 hours net, however the Ministry of Defence offers a range of flexibilities to enable a better work-life balance for employees. Flexible working patterns will be considered.
The�objectives of the role cannot be delivered within reduced hours or through job share, the role entails the management of a high volume of complex outputs which will entail a consistent and rapid turnaround for resolutions due to safe and legal compliance and potential risk to lives, the role also includes but is not limited to management of remote work over a wide geographical area and challenging stakeholder management with diverse customers that require access to a single point of contact full time.

Monitoring supplier performance against agreed forecasts and key performance measures, including production of regular progress reports for assigned projects. Identifying and taking corrective action and re-prioritisation of the programme as required and in line with the customer intent.
Engaging and working in collaboration with the supplier, customer, and DIO enabling functions, for the successful delivery of projects. Collaborating closely with Programme managers, site teams and key stakeholders on projects within your areas, and regularly updating key project data on the Information Management Systems. Helping to shape and lead the project team, to deliver agreed project outcomes.
Tracking in year progress of all your projects; undertaking regular analysis and reporting of key achievements, financial and milestone forecasting for the projects assigned to them. Providing effective governance and decision making for the control of projects against delivery and budgets.
Risk Management on their projects including the advice on implementation of mitigation/recovery measures where appropriate, taking care of Early Warnings Notices and Compensation Events in line with commercial�policy, and scheduling, chairing and recording decisions from the relevant meetings.
Ensuring quality and compliance within programme schedules by undertaking regular site supervision and obtaining appropriate technical advice from DIO colleagues.
There may be the opportunity to manage an apprentice in the future, therefore being prepared to undertake line management responsibilities is required.
A full UK driving licence is required as the Region is geographically dispersed, and the successful candidate will be site based with a requirement to travel to various locations to fulfil the role successfully and effectively, including occasional travel across the SW region and national travel. Please note Public Transport is not available to many of our locations.�
Travel is required between sites to review projects and promote effective stakeholder relationships, spending approximately 60% of your time working from your permanent duty station, or other site locations, to support your work. The successful candidate is expected to travel to visit other PDMs, 2-4 days a month, to support their training and development for as long as needed.

Leading on Business Case production for projects where appropriate, monitoring receipt of planned benefits. Acting as a trusted adviser, providing customers with professional estate advice and support as required.
Sharing standard methodology and good practice with colleagues across Regional Delivery.
Conducting post project evaluations and preparing lessons learned papers where appropriate regarding projects.
