This role provides a high standard of administrative support to the Spinal Surgery Department.
To undertake a range of clerical and administrative duties which will include receiving and checking documentation, reports and patient information, processing appropriately within departmental guidelines, entering information onto the appropriate IT system and retrieving information as and when required, and arranging clinical appointments for patients among other duties.
To provide the Patient Services Co-ordinators, consultants, and clinical teams with administrative support. To demonstrate excellent customer service to patients, relatives, carers, colleagues, and external organisations. To have initiative compatible to the role and always maintain confidentiality.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Use the Patient Administration System as required.
2. Use Patient Pathway Manager + as required.
3. Politely and efficiently receive telephone enquiries from patients, carers, and external agencies in relation to hospital appointments, admissions, and general enquiries.
4. Support patient service coordinators, clinicians, and management in service delivery.
5. Ensure proper use of office equipment e.g. photocopier, printer, laminator etc.
6. Work as an effective team member within the patient services team.
