Are you passionate about mental health care and looking for an exciting opportunity to join a supportive community mental health team?
We are currently seeking Registered Occupational Therapists to become part of our dedicated Community Mental Health Team. Based at Aylesbury at the Whiteleaf Centre, our team is committed to providing exceptional care and treatment to adults with mental health challenges. Our goal is to deliver patient-centered care of the highest quality, while supporting our staff in their roles and fostering their professional growth.
As part of the Aylesbury CMHT, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team that includes medical professionals, psychological therapists, social workers, occupational therapists, RMNs, and support workers. We also collaborate with third-sector workers who specialise in employment, housing, and social needs. To bridge the gap between patients and clinicians, we have also introduced Peer Support Workers who bring the invaluable perspective of lived experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform specialist Occupational Therapy assessments in collaboration with service users and their families/carers, and present findings to the team.
2. Handle a caseload of clients with complex Occupational Therapy needs, using evidence-based, patient-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
3. Create and oversee treatment plans to ensure the safety, well-being, and independence of service users, working closely with partner agencies where necessary.
4. Offer specialist support and education to service users and carers regarding aspects of occupational therapy, such as equipment fitting, and monitor and evaluate treatment plans.
5. Participate in continuous personal development, clinical education, and support for students and non-registered staff, and contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of OT services.
The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role.
