Job Description Roles and responsibilities : Responsible for providing daily leadership, operational direction and continuous improvement to Buyer personnel. Normally performs routine work without requiring detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Independently carries out Procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, including RFPs, negotiation preparations, and cost analysis. Drive actions to mitigate potential delivery delays by identifying risks, performing root cause analysis and development of recovery plans to bring shipments back in-line with customer requirements. Coordinates all activities related to procurement beginning with intent to purchase through delivery. Analyses the requirements, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity is needed. Competitive tendering to ensure best value for money Solicits and evaluates proposals Issues RFQ’s and PO’s in accordance with company procedures. Implements purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations. Responsible for providing Purchasing KPI and accountable for team performance. Supported by the Buying Team, ensure that all Purchase orders are issued to suppliers in a timely manner and that terms are conditions reflect the requirements of the programme. Ensure that Quality, Price and Leadtime information in the ERP systems is accurate Investigates and/or interviews potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements. Ensures that Supplier are fully qualified and Approved Suppliers list is maintained in the ERP System Advises team members or management on the appropriate supplier to be used. Negotiates the lowest possible cost balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs. Assures material is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company. Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records. Liaise with Production, Quality Assurance and Programmes to ensure product and service quality levels are maximized. Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and self-sufficient time management skills Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles or experiences. Proficiency in MS Office suite Preferred Qualifications Supply chain experience for an aerospace and/or Defense Company. Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
