Advance Consulting Engineers is looking for an Infrastructure / Civil Engineer with 1-3 years industry experience to join our exciting and highly regarded Infrastructure Team.
Responsibilities
* You will be involved with projects in a variety of sectors from residential to commercial, providing engineering design and client support.
* You will be involved with projects from early-stage feasibility work where you will have opportunity to inform masterplans, through to planning, detailed design and construction. Depending on experience, opportunity will be available to lead or assist in the delivery of these.
* Working on multidisciplinary projects; liaising with a variety of consultants, design teams (internal and external) and empowering you to influence clients to find the right solutions for projects, large or small.
* Drawing from your experience and knowledge, you will be able to produce designs for highways and street designs, engineering levels, drainage, flood risk advice, surfacing and earthworks. Ensuring that your tasks are completed to technical standards and legal requirements.
* Contribute to work winning, managing your own workload and assisting with budget control.
Your Team
* Advance Consulting Engineers, founded in 2020, is a local multidisciplinary engineering consultancy covering projects predominantly within South West, allowing you to influence projects within the area you live. We currently have highly experienced consultants within infrastructure engineering, transportation and geo-environmental consultancy, providing you with opportunity to gain a wide range of experience.
* The Infrastructure Team is predominantly based in Plymouth, however we also have members based in Cornwall. We all currently work remotely and frequently meet up to maintain a great team spirit.

* The Infrastructure Team are made up of 6 team members of varying experience, ensuring you that you will be well supported. The team have been steadily growing since its infancy alongside the scale of projects it has been working on. Some examples of the projects of which the team have helped deliver and are currently working on are: Truro Sports Hub (home of Truro City FC), Langarth Garden Village (Truro), Saltram Meadows (Plymouth), Palmerston Heights West (Plymouth).
Qualifications
* BEng, MEng, BSc, MSc, HND or HNC Civil engineering qualification, with between 1-3 years industry experience. If you have more and feel this job suits you, we’d still love to hear from you.
* Ability to collaborate with clients, design teams effectively.
* Awareness of the relevant legal processes and UK procedures to provide technical support to achieve planning approval.
* Experience of engineering levels design, drainage design, Section 38, 278 and 104 adoption procedures. Including knowledge of the relevant design codes such as Manual for Streets, Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Local Authority Design Guidance and Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance.
* Ability to put together drawing packages for each stage of the project cycle and technical approvals from highway and drainage authorities.
* Good understanding and design skills in the use of technical software such as Causeway PDS, Flow and AutoCAD.
* A desire to improve your current skills and work towards a professional qualification.
