Position: Payroll Manager Location: DY6 (Accountancy Firm) Experience Required: Minimum 5 years' practice experience in payroll Salary: £35k Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday About the Role: Our client, a well-established accountancy firm based in the DY6 area, is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of practical experience in payroll, preferably within an accountancy or practice environment, and be confident in managing complex payroll processes for a wide range of clients. Key Responsibilities: Manage Payroll Processing: Oversee the timely and accurate processing of payroll for clients, ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations. Client Liaison: Work directly with clients to address payroll queries and provide expert advice on payroll-related matters. HMRC Reporting: Ensure accurate submissions to HMRC, including Real Time Information (RTI) filings, P60s, P45s, and PAYE. Auto-Enrolment: Administer auto-enrolment pensions, including compliance and reporting. Payroll Systems Management: Utilise payroll software and ensure the payroll system is up-to-date and efficient. Legislation Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll-related legislation and ensure clients' payrolls are compliant. Managing Payroll Queries: Handle payroll discrepancies, tax codes, and other issues, providing solutions to clients in a timely manner. Team Leadership: Support and guide junior payroll staff, providing training and ensuring high-quality service is delivered. Requirements: To be successful in the role, you will need to demonstrate: Minimum 5 years’ payroll experience in an accountancy firm or practice environment. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and taxation. Experience with payroll software and systems (e.g., Sage, Xero). Ability to manage complex payroll processes and multiple clients simultaneously. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients. Team player with a proactive approach to managing workload.
