Job overview
Applications are invited for a full-time Pathology Assistant post in Histopathology and Cytopathology. The main purpose of the post is to support the clinical work of Cellular Pathology consultants, which will mainly comprise 'cut-up'. This frees up consultant time for functions that cannot be delegated to a junior, such as writing pathology reports and attending Multidisciplinary Cancer Meetings.
The candidate should have a Biological sciences degree, preferably MBBS or MBBCh and FRCPath or equivalents. The candidate should have a background in general histopathology experience. Proven experience of 'cut-up' in a hospital Histopathology laboratory is required. The candidate should be willing to work one day during the weekend if the need arises.
